FAQs On Custom Framing

What can/cannot be framed? Let's talk about it. Bring your project to us or give us a call, and we’ll help you design a custom framing solution that not only protects but also enhances and brings the right amount of attention to your piece.

How much does it cost? This is always a tough question to answer since pricing depends on the size of your piece and the materials you choose. The best way to get an accurate quote is to visit us—we’ll measure your item, explore frame options, and discuss the look you want to achieve. Once we understand your vision and preferred materials, we can suggest ways to fit the project within your budget. Our goal is for you to love your finished piece, and there’s absolutely no cost to stop by and explore your options with us!

How long will it take? Generally it takes about 2-3 weeks to receive your customized materials and build your frame. If you are in a rush, we do have a small supply of in-house materials to choose from and build your project within a few days. Around the holidays, lead times may be a little longer.

I’m design challenged, do you help? Yes! Some of our framers have art degrees and others have been framing for over 20 years! This is your project and we want you to love it. To get started we will ask you a few questions, provide some suggestions and then get your feedback. All you have to do is be open to sharing with us what you like and don’t like, we will do the rest.

When it comes to designing/building a frame, what really matters? Clients want to know: Do they need to use a mat? Why use preservation or conservation techniques? Do they really need “museum quality” or UV glass?

Based on what is it that you bring in, we can walk you through all the decisions that matter for your item to be framed. There’s usually more than one way we can frame an item. We can explain the pros and cons of your options and price out these options, at no cost to you.

Do you deliver and install artwork? We can offer you delivery if you are in the Chicagoland area for a flat fee. Otherwise standard shipping & packaging rates apply. We currently do not offer installation.
